Are We Being Served?
 

Having been involved in the corporate environment for many years and being involved hands-on with the establishment of some excellent Customer Care programmes, I have found it somewhat frustrating to deal with many companies in the UK that advocate certain values, but have great difficulty living up them. It's great to say the right things and have profound mission statements expressing committment to customers, but the reality is that very few organisations truly live the principles they say they subscribe to.

I believe that as consumers we have the combined power to make a difference , and am personally a great fan of the TV programmes that expose the tardy and often downright shoddy and disrespectful attitudes towards customers.

With this in mind, I am adding this page to my website to highlight companies and suppliers that have provided either excellent or exceedingly poor service in order to do my bit to generate awareness of those businesses that live their values and those that don't !Anybody that has experiences of either extreme of service is welcome to submit their recommendation for inclusion into the list. My Stars and Black Holes a the moment are :

 

 Five Star Service (Good-Excellent)

Ancient Wisdom - an online supplier of gift items. Rapid response times, great service, do what they say they will do when they say they will do it!

Shopholistic - Internet based aromatherapy supplies. Good service. Keep you up to date with what is happening with your order, don't over-promise, and deliver on time.

 

 

Black Hole Service (Poor,  Shoddy or Non Existent)

Ufindus - An online business directory. Lies, misrepresentations about service, inadequate response to complaints (ignore the bits they don't want to address!), and disrespectful of clients. I was told because I had complained that they didn't want customers like me anyway! Appalling service & an attitude of take y our money and keep it.

Parcel2Go - Economy Courier service. Unreliable, don't do what they say they will do, inadequate response to complaints, and denial of any liability for damage by couriers. Internet based and all responses generated by the 'system', lack of personal involvement. All in all a very unpleasant experience resulting in extra costs incurred for products delivered by them.

Sandersons - Estate agents (sales and lettings). Complacent, arrogant and treat customers like a hassle to be endured rather than the reason they are in business in the first place. Don't do what they say they will, necessitating numerous follow ups by the customer. Not a good experience or recommendation.
